NOMINATING COMMITTEE

The nominating committee now consists of Linda Bird, Sue Short, and Connie Lupardus. They are tasked with the job of finding candidates for each elected office of the co-op.
Your help is needed. If you wish to serve the Co-op as an officer, director, or in any ohter way, please contact one of them and let them know that you are available.
Linda's phone number is 304-965-5119. Connie is usually available at the CAEZ office, and the phone number there is 304-587-2034

Your help and participation is important to make the co-op the success that you want it to be.
the annual meeting will be held on June 28 this year, and that is when we will vote on a by-laws change and on new officers, and, if the by-laws change is approved, 3 directors. be sure that it is on your calendar, and plan to attend.

more scenes from the April 12 meeting

A LOT OF ACTIVITY WENT ON AT THE MEETING. AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE WAS A LOT OF CONFERRING ABOUT SEVERAL TOPICS.

ANOTHER SATURDAY MEETING VIEW

ANOTHER PICTURE FROM THE SATURDAY MEETING. Roger Nutter confers with Charley Cantrell and Andy Waddell.
As in the past, Andy and WYAP will be providing some promotional activities for BC&G to help in developing campground business.
Even though it is still pretty rustic, it certainly can provide a great camping experience for a lot of people.
So, we need to promote it all possible, and get the people in.

IT IS SPRING, AND THE FOREST IS BEGINNING TO BLOOM. THE TOP PICTURE IS ONE OF THE EARLIER FLOWERS TO COME OUT, I THINK IT IS CALLED A SPRING BEAUTY.
THE LOWER PICTURE IS A VIEW OF THE CREEK WITH THE BRIDGE BY THE CAMPGROUND IN THE BACKGROUND.
I THINK EVERYONE KNOWS THIS, BUT I WILL MENTION IT ANYWAY, IF YOU CLICK ON THE PICTURE, IT WILL ENLARGE--THEN THE DETAIL IS JUST GREAT.

BUFFALO CREEK

AFTER THE MEETING TODAY, I WENT UP AND TOOK SOME MORE PICTURES OF BUFFALO CREEK, ABOVE THE CAMPGROUND. I AM STILL AMAZED AT HOW PRETTY IT IS. HERE ARE A COUPLE OF THE PICTURES.

http://www.buffalocreekandgauley.com This address will take you to the site set up by Brooks Stover to provide information about the Buffalo Creek and Gauley Railroad, as well as the towns associated with it.
It also contains some history of the co-op. An exceprt, including the link follows:

Roger Nutter - Roger is the founding President of the BC&G Co-Op and is a native of the Swandale area. He hosted the trip I (Brooks) took, along with several others, on the BC&G in June 2007 and many of the photos, facts and stories recorded on this site are direct result of Roger's sharing his intimate knowledge of the ERC&L with us.

The now beautiful Buffalo Creek, along with your cabooses and engine at the J. G. Bradley Campground. It is just hard to believe the beauty of Buffalo, now that it has returned to its pre coal washing days. If you haven't seen it lately, put it on your "must see" list for this summer.
